Tool Steel Balls for Rock Bits – S-2 Impact‑Resistant for Harsh Drilling

Product Overview

Specifically, JSW supplies tool steel balls for rock bits manufactured from S-2 shock‑resisting tool steel (AISI S-2 / UNS T41902). Our tool steel balls for rock bits are used as locking mechanisms and wear components in tricone drill bits for oil, gas, and mining operations. These tool steel balls for rock bits exhibit a through‑hardened structure after quenching and tempering, achieving a uniform hardness of HRC 58–62. The combination of high hardness and exceptional toughness enables the balls to withstand heavy impact, extreme vibration, and abrasive mud slurries encountered in offshore and onshore drilling.
